TENNIS
We will be offering Beginner/Year Round Clinics (no match play) as well as team play this summer.
All players who play team matches need to be members of the USTA ($20 fee for 1-year membership), and will also be responsible for a small team fee (< than $20) payable to the USTA. Instructions for team sign up will be provided closer to the start of the season.
The program focuses on introducing beginner players to the basic skills and scoring. The older intermediate and advanced level players will learn to improve their skills, develop strategies, and compete in league matches.
Gani Adelekan
Head Coach
Gani has 23 years of coaching experience and was the Junior Tennis Director in charge of the youth tennis program at Seven Oaks for 12 years. He is a former Nigeria Davis Cup player from 1990-2001 and reached the status of Nigeria’s ranking player. He was ranked #1 in North Carolina in 2004-2005, with an IFT Ranking of 40 in the world. In 1994 he played at Junior Wimbledon, the Junior Swiss Open, the Junior Japan Open, and Junior German Open as part of the Nigerian Junior Tennis Team.
