WOOD VALLEY SWIM TEAM COACHES
Pat Rohner brings over 35 years of coaching experience, as well as, a bachelor degree in education from Boston University. Pats coaching background spans most every level, from the pre-competitive team for 6-8 year old children at the Sports Club in West Bloomfield, MI, to the National coach for the Glen Cove NY YMCA team. Locally, Pat was a lead coach for YOTA for five years and still continues as their Masters team coach. Pat currently is President of a startup company focusing on making tools that help teach swimmers how to overcome the most common stubborn stroke errors.
Pat is looking forward to a great summer of swimming. Her priority as a coach is safety first! Then, to teach youngsters respect and responsibility to help them grow into great adults. Of course she will work with each swimmer to improve on their current level and ensure a fun and rewarding experience.
This is Charlottes second year coaching, but she has been part of the Wood Valley swim team since 2008. She has also been a lifeguard at Wood Valley for the past two years. Charlotte graduated from Leesville Road High School where she was a member on their swim team for four years. She was a member of the Marlins of Raleigh (MOR) year round swim team since fifth grade. This fall, Charlotte will be a freshman at East Carolina University studying Interior Design. She will also be a member of the ECU club swim team. Charlotte is very excited to spend this summer season coaching for the Wood Valley Otters.
Mary Liz is excited to be a part of the coaching staff again this season. She is passionate about swimming and is entering her twelfth season as a Wood Valley Otter. She is a rising senior at North Raleigh Christian Academy and has competed on their varsity swim team for five years. Being a part of the marching band at NRCA for four years has helped her develop team building and leadership skills. Mary Liz can’t wait to meet all of this year’s swimmers!
